Hello, my name is Brenda Reilly. I am an Independent Website Designer/Developer.
I have recently completed my Associate degree in Computer Information Technology at Central Carolina Community College. I plan on using the skills I have learned, taking more classes, and learning more techniques for web design. I have created a few websites that can be viewed from my Portfolio page.
I am well versed in hand-coding HTML and CSS as you can
see from my Our Father's House website. I also use programs such as Expression Web
(my website), and Dreamweaver (the Boy Scout website). I edit photos,
videos, and audio to format them to website specifications. Currently I am
taking a Continuing Education course in PHP and MySQL to learn how to
incorporate databases into my Web sites
using PHP programming.
In addition to my Associate
Degree, I have earned my national A+ Certification from CompTIA, and through
my college, have certificates in Database
Programming, Computer Hardware Troubleshooting Repair, Network Technologist,
Software Specialist,
and Internet and Computing Core Certificate (IC3).
Go to my Certificates page to view my
certificates.
I am one course away from receiving the Web
Development certificate.
Due to budget cuts at the college, it is difficult to obtain the Web 250
course, thus I'm taking the CE course.
I have had a vision to own my own business straight out of high school. So I took one year of College for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management at Becker College in Worcester, MA. At the time, no clue on what kind of business I'd like to own. It took a backseat to other things in my life. Something a lot of us can attest to, so I've heard. Hence, it's taken me quite a while to make my decision on what type of business I'd like to own. I have been planning to own my web design business for about 3 years. I suppose my love for web design originates from living away from many family and friends and wanting to share information with them. I first started out blogging, but really didn't like limitations in using templates designed by others. Therefore, I became interested in learning how to create websites from scratch.
Top of my list of things I love and enjoy is designing websites. I am extremely dedicated to, and detail oriented in my work.
If you are looking for a Website Designer keep me in mind!
